Marina Bay Sands became a platform for the largest base jump attempt in Singapore on new years day 2012.  The jumping part makes me a bit queezy but I like the shots of Singapore in the first half of the video.

Something Blue

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!  I'm off to a great start this week having just received the invitation card to one of my best friend's wedding. We went through architecture school together so yes, she is also very creative.  I love this Tiffany blue invitation!!  and I'm in the wedding party so I'm super excited to wear the dress in this beautiful blue color. 

Wax seal just makes me feel so special.

Lego proposal

Lego love! Walt Thompson, a filmmaker and photographer created this stop-motion animation proposal video for his girlfriend.  It's made of 2,600 photos which he captured from 22 hours of shooting!!  I love the Lego wedding dress ;) very creative!

Firewood Lights

Firewood Lights by Rafael DeCardena gives you an instant fireplace with warm lights glowing out of the angular cut wood.   Now all you need is the crackling sound of burning wood to set the mood.  

Toy stories

Signing off this week with a bit of giggles for everyone.  It's a series of vignettes with plastic toys and funny captions created by Aled Lewis.  It's so cute...  but I don't think I can hit another pinata.

Polaroids carry a special feel that digital photography has lost.  The anticipation as you wait for the image to appear and the preciousness of having one copy.  But now you can turn any special moment in to Polaboy!  It's a giant polaroid shaped photo frame with LED backlighting.  I would take forever to choose that one photo >_<

This is a very refreshing idea compared to the other creative usb designs we've seen. "Blank," designed by hum makes me feel like I should only be storing special memories in there.  

Spreading the Aloha

Here I thought I was being creative by setting up my own design blog…while in a matter of months, my mother has set up her own shop with many of her original items!! I was taught in school that design is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration. Just like that, my mom got a little inspiration and ran with it. I know it was a ton of work and many people were involved, but it’s really amazing to see all the ideas take shape. Hope Ringo didn't fall too far from the tree ;)

Everything introduced on the website is based on mom’s hopes of spreading a bit of Aloha to everyone. My favorite is the “Smiling Tiki,” an original character designed especially for the shop by an artist residing in Hawaii. I hear it’s selling fast and I’m anxiously waiting for mine to be delivered!

The cutest pa’u available for those practicing hula. Although I don't hula, I ordered this for myself and wore it during a holiday in Tioman. 

Travel destinations

I know some of those well traveled like to keep a pin map, probably more virtual ones these days. I'm sure many traveled during this holiday season so why not mark your journeys.  I just came across some pinning maps cool enough to be a wall decor.

Journal that lasts 6 years

I saw this being introduced on tv and loved it.  Journal that lasts 6 years is a notebook with the Singapore parking coupon printed on the corner of each page so you can punch out and record the date of your entry.  This is the cutest Singapore souvenir ever!

It's designed by Edwin Low, the co-founder of Supermama store on Seah Street. 

Diamond Lights
