Emma Magazine

Here's a weekend treat for all of my readers. Emma is my favorite e-magazine at the moment. Why?  Well it has a great mix of design, lifestyle, diy, food, accessories, wedding and decor. Hmmm... does that list sounds familiar?? oh wait, that's what I talk about on my blog!! :)

Weekend Love: The Royal Blue Wedding

Hello! My apologies for the 2 week absence without any prior notice. I was completely under the weather and also swamped with work, both still ongoing... On top of that I just took part in a wedding as a bridesmaid right here in Singapore. It was a beautiful day and an exciting one with bridesmaid duties different from the ones I experienced in Denmark and US weddings.

I helped out the couple in the only way I know. Yup, by DIY-ing an original money box for their royal blue wedding. The only request was to create something simple so I topped it off with a giant bow :)

This was so much easier than the diamond money box for my own wedding!

Inspired by: A lovely Valentine DIY

Valentine's is in just a week and I'm seeing so many lovely Valentine's Day diy projects. This year I selected less cutesy and more elegant projects.

Floral Heart from a pair and a spare to say I put in a little more effort than a bouquet.

Ombre Wrapping from the House that Lars Built because you're gonna have to wrap that gift in something.

Pavlova Hearts from Return to Sunday Supper because whats V-day without some sugar!

Christmas Gift Wrapping 2013

I am excited for the overwhelming response to my Christmas Covered Strawberries from 2011 and Christmas Yarn Tree from 2012! Unfortunately, I've been a little too busy recently that I couldn't share any original Christmas DIYs this year. But I have been spotting some amazing projects online and I thought I'd share some gift wrapping ideas for some last minute  holiday preparations :)

3rd Year Anniversary!!

Today is our third year blogaversary! Yeeei! Although the 2nd year anniversary post still feels like it was yesterday... It's been a fun filled year and definitely a memorable one with the name & address change. I was super nervous about it but the transition has been so far so good. I have my lovely readers to thank for that :)

To celebrate this special day, I decided to make the alphabet pompoms from the Mr.Printables blog, which I absolutely love. Turns out it is much harder than I expected.... so I only managed to finish the 'S'. Hopefully I can get the 'F' & 'C' done by the end of the year :P

Here's to an even more creative year ahead. x

Halloween Party!

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm headed to my office party today and this year's theme is 'uniforms.' So I did a quick DIY and made myself this Pan Am flight attendant set.  Total cost, 2 dollars :) The pins are just printed on photo paper but looks pretty real here right!?

Have a fun & safe Halloween!

Weekend Love: Bon Voyage

One of my closest friends in Singapore just moved to London so we had a sendoff party over the weekend. As a surprise gift, I prepared a custom photo album through the Photobook Singapore. Their photobook designer software is super user-friendly!! It took hours to do the layout with over 100 photos to include but I'm pretty proud of it and the book turned out really cute ;)

It's always sad to say goodbye but as this print from 1612DesignandPhoto says, there's so much to be grateful for.

Give your friend a hug!

The Engagement Party DIY

My friend recently asked me to be the maid-of-honor for her wedding in August!! and while this is super exciting in itself, wait 'til you hear where the wedding is taking place. It's in Copenhagen!! I never imagined myself attending a wedding in Denmark, let alone being a part of one!!! Since we can't really help prepare for the actual wedding, the bridesmaids decided to throw a surprise engagement party. Of course I had to DIY some special party decorations because this bride-to-be deserves nothing but the best!!

The party banner was a must but we customized the common "She Said Yes!" by adding the bride's name. I used silver paper to cut the letters out of so they they will sparkle in the dim bar where we held the party.

The table centerpiece is my original paper flowers which are super easy to make. I printed papers in different shades of pink and purple rather than using colored paper. This way I can get just the right colors and add gradations to give a more romantic feel.  Cut the paper in petal shapes, around 10-15 pieces per flower. Start with one petal and wrap the others around it while holding the bottom.  I just stapled the bottom together at the end since it wont be visible when placed on the table.

Finally, my personal favorite, the cake topper is a giant diamond ring made possible by the template offered on the amazing minieco blog.

and there's the happy couple :)
