Shrine table turns hot

when i first saw this image, i was immediately drawn to the hot pink. then i wondered why this reminded me so much of the stands they have in Japanese shrines. so when i read the product name "shrine flat-table," it completely made sense. turns out the design is based on a shrine table and created by Sschemata Architecture of Japan.


According to their website, the idea to pour resin came from an irritating experience with an uneven surface on a wooden table top in their office. What's fascinating is that although the top is flattened and smoothed, the bright colors appear in different density across the surface depending on the wood, emphasizing the irregular depths even more.  the colors are just mesmerizing...
