I miss Japan especially when I don't get to go home this time of the year. Maybe it's because I know I'm missing out on all the food and the New Years fun. I need one of these 小さな鏡餅飾り to bring some Japanese New Year spirit to Singapore :)  mmm... mochi!!

These fun boxes by Scholten & Baijings are a modern take on a Dutch tradition.

A Butte is a traditional Dutch wooden travel case made from woven willow and wood veneer. This modern take features decorative fluorescent interior paint and hand-drawn printed illustrations. Each tells a story ‘the life of a tuna fish’, ‘the life of a turtle’ and ‘the life of a tree’, raising the environmental implications of intensive farming and deforestation.

Weekend Love: Tan Boon Liat

Hi everyone! Hope you had a fun weekend. I had another weekend of furniture shopping and made some fun discoveries this time around. Has anyone visited the Tan Boon Liat Building? I didn't buy anything but found a couple nice furniture stores in this building including Pomelo and Shophouse.

We also came across The Providore shop which was an unexpected find in this building. I will definitely be back to get some of their wine and gourmet food.

Made a stop at the Five & Dime for a early christmas lunch with friends who are leaving for the holidays next week. A day of furniture shopping and good food with great company..can't complain!!

I'm starting to feel the holiday buzz ;)

All Streets

I just came across a very cool map called All Streets by Fathom. The entire map is made of just roads in the states but it starts reveal so much more. WOW!

Roadless terrain forms the topography of the Appalachian Mountains.
