Inspired by: Nordic Design

Day by day the excitement grows for my trip to Copenhagen in August!! In the meantime I'm being inspired by some amazing blogs on Nordic design. Here are some of my recent faves. Can't wait to experience it and breath in all the creativity!

帯留

One of a kind handmade Obidome. I can't use it to accessorize a kimono since I never wear one, but I'd keep these beautiful glass art in my jewel box.

Pomegranates!

I LOVE THIS POMEGRANATE PRINT!! From Society6 by Georgiana Paraschiv.

I love pomegranates but I'm scared of getting my shirt stained.

Delfts Toast

Delft Porcelain Patterned Toaster by the Minale-Maeda team from Rotterdam. I love anything that adds a beautiful touch to something ordinary. I could make the most fabulous grilled cheese sandwich with this.

Weekend Love: Bridesmaid fun

I hope everyone in Singapore enjoyed the long weekend! Highlight for me was a surprise we planned for a bride-to-be.  I previously introduced the surprise engagement party I threw as a maid-of-honor, so this is part two!
The bridesmaids filled the box with items to prep the bride for the wedding.
And what better way to present it than over some wine and cheese.

Inspired by: Kokblog

The internet is full of food blogs by anyone from moms to celebrity chefs to just hungry people. The popular sites usually share one thing in common and that's beautiful, enticing photographs of food. But here's Kokblog by Johanna Kindvall. Definitely successful, but with absolutely no photographs! She introduces Swedish cooking through just simple, sweet illustrations. I love it!!

LO.LA Jewelry

I love visiting the LO.LA Jewelry  Etsy shop. So vibrant and colorful, it gives me creative energy just looking at it :)

A line

I remember picking up rocks along the river and drawing on them when I was a kid. But it didn't turn out quite as beautiful as the watercolor painted stone installations by Lionel Esteve.  He used 113 stones!!

QUAD

QUAD designed by Dewa Bleisinger is a transforming trivet! The silicone strips connecting 16 wooden cubes allows various configurations to fit many shapes and sizes. This is just brilliant!

Weekend Love: To our 30s

My husband turns 30 years old today and we had a big barbecue party with our friends over the weekend. I prepped food for 20 people and of course had to add some creative touch to the day.  I started the morning by leaving a surprise early gift in a bag shaped in his favorite Japanese beer.

Its just two A3 sheets combined to make a cylinder and on one of them I printed the beer logo. Later in the day I transformed it into a Piñata for the party. I also made my special Yogurt x Cream Cheese cake for the birthday party~

Phew, very tired but so worth it for the man who supports me every step of my life. Look forward to continue having fun in our 30s.

The Scientific 7-Minute Workout

I never thought I would get to do a workout related post here on my design blog but his chart looks cute enough to be a pattern on a shirt. But don't let the little man in red shorts fool you, because I realized after the second step this is no joke. This is called The Scientific 7-Minute Workout from the NY Times blog. Well, if there's anything that can get me to workout, it's a beautifully designed instruction :)

I will not make it past 6.

Savone

The beautiful divided plates called Savone from Metaphys of Japan. The inspiration came from bubbles and how they gently connect to each other.

Weekend Love: Cherry tomatoes

Hope everyone is coming back from a healthy, happy weekend! I started the weekend by making myself a super easy breakfast. Just olive oil dipped cherry tomatoes over a thick layer of cream cheese on baguette. Complete with a pinch of salt n pepper. Simply delicious :)

Enjoy with a hot cup of tea for a lazy saturday morning
