Inspired by: Design in a Nutshell

I hope my dear readers have already registered my blog to a Google reader alternative :) I'm a bloglovin' user of 2 years and yes, lovin' it. I even have 2 accounts, one for personal use and one for work.  My work account bookmarks mostly architecture websites and today I found the following  videos from a series called 'Design in a Nutshell' introduced on Architizer.

These are my two favorites from the series of videos. Watch it here!

Well that was a few weeks worth of architecture history class I sat in during school.

Oddly attracted to these eccentric Mix Beads Bag Charms from chiLL chiLL of Japan. I think I will take the alpaca.

WASARA

Here are the most beautiful 'paper' plates you will ever find! Can you believe it?! The Wasara by studio simplicity is disposable tableware intended for just one time use. And not only is it beautiful, the earth-conscious product is made of bamboo, reed pulp and sugar cane fiber and is fully biodegradable and compostable.

WASARA is the product of a unique Japanese sensibility that has developed throughout history. Elements of this sensibility can be found in Japanese design, architecture and manufacturing.

Weekend Love: Green Apples n Brie

Welcome back to a new week. I had a nice slow weekend with time to make myself some breakfast. Green apple x brie slightly toasted on bread.

I ended the weekend with a nice chill afternoon at the Book Cafe. Have you been there? It's a cafe in Robertson Quay with a little library and a spread of latest magazines for you to enjoy over some food and drinks. One of my favorite weekend joints.

Inspired by: White on white

I woke up this morning and the world outside was white. Singapore has been shrouded in thick haze for the past 4 days and looks like its going to stay this way for awhile. We're being advised to stay indoors...on a weekend?! Argh. I guess it's a good opportunity to catch up on some creative projects??  The hazy view just reminded me of some beautiful white on white works I have bookmarked. I say it's a perfect time to share it and give my oversea readers a feel of what I'm seeing. Well, a very pretty version of it.

Words by Debra Baxter.

Recent works by my favorite, Arik Levy.

Feast, A Dinner Journal

Feast is a beautiful story book by photograher, Donal Shekan. It takes you through a journey of gathering ingredients and putting it all together to host a springtime Feast.  It features the origin of each item from the table down to the ceramic bowl for the soup and floral arrangements. See how it all comes together on a table set inside a charming old church. A lovely concept and a romantic showcasing of Ireland's finest.

Experience it here.

Tomoni Bicycle

I don't think I've wished for a bicycle since I was 9 or 10, but the super stylish and cute designs from Tomoni is making me change my mind. Check out the hot pink! I'm might even consider biking to work in the steaming hot Singapore weather! not.

Weekend Love: Happiness

I just experienced the most fun art installation that will make anyone act like a kid. It's a room filled with 10,000 blue balloons, representing the emotion of happiness. Those of you in Singapore, visit the 'First,Love' exhibit at ION Art Gallery before it all deflates!!

How was your weekend!?

Inspired by: QUITOKEETO

Quitokeeto is beautiful. I don't want to just introduce it as an online shop because it's feels more like a gallery where I'm left wanting to see more. Here, the carefully selected items are presented as "collections." Lucky me, I managed to catch their new collection launched just few days ago in their online pop-up store that opens "now and then when the stars align."

Cheesy Infographic

I've never posted infographics on my blog for many reasons, but I couldn't ignore this one. I loove love cheese. So much that I want to move out of Singapore because cheese is just so expensive here. The designer behind this "cornucopia of cheese" went all out to give you the break down on 66 types of cheese.

"A charting of 66 delightful cheeses from around the world, assembled into one wondrous wheel"

Weekend Love: The iPad App hunt

I'm coming back this Monday with a big smile because I just got myself an iPad mini!! My new shiny toy will let me blog on-the-go :)  I'm an iPhone user of 4 years but I'm searching for new exciting iPad apps to help with the blogging and material search. I already installed the usuals like pinterest & bloglovin' but here are my new additions.

Adobe ideas is great for sketching and drawing over photos. The creative cloud allows you to pick up what you started on the iPad later in illustrator for refinement.

Has anyone tried the Posts? It's a blogging platform that works with Blogger and Wordpress. I'm loving the interface! and the best part is that this app used to be $9.99 but now it's free!

I'm also trying out Evernote and Pulse which comes highly recommended for bloggers. Do you have any other recommendations for me?!?
