Scrap Wood City

The city Skyline created from scrap wood by McNabb & Co immediately reminded me of architecture studio.  It looks like something crazy we would make with left over material at 3 am in the morning after one too many nights and caffine in the studio... I love it!

Just when I was thinking of getting myself a cute scarf and gloves, I came across the Purl Bee.  This blog introduces the cutest knitting projects... not that I'm going to pick up knitting in time for the trip.

Transience

The beautiful gradation seen in the Transience mirror by by Dutch designers David Derksen and Lex Pott comes from different levels of the natural oxidation process.  The differently stages of colors are beautifully displayed in the overlapping geometries.

"Over time, dark spots start to appear on mirrors. The silver layer is slowly oxidizing under the influence of oxygen and water, thereby showing some of its history. This process can be regarded as degradation, however this project shows the beauty of this material transition of silver. "
