Skyve

I visited the Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar for my weekend brunch. The European/ French restaurant is just 3 months old and it's hidden along a small street connecting Bukit Timah road to the Newton hawker center.  

I loved the decor. It's modern chic and stylish but still a bit playful and comfortable. I was quite surprised to find such a classy establishment in this location. 

The food was very rich and tasty over all. I expecially loved the truffle oil on my pizza. I hear they serve my favorite dishes, pan-seard foie gras and beef tartare during dinner so I guess I will have to come back!

Facetat

The beautiful serving dish is called Facetat and it's designed by Andreu Carulla exclusively for a restaurant in Spain.

Yum Yum Cover

Yum Yum Cover by Switch Design is a glass food cover designed specifically for 3 very common foods in Japan.  おにぎり、ショートケーキ　それにシュークリーム。

This will definitely take 3時のおやつto a whole new level.

That's one special cream puff!

Personally, the おにぎり (riceball) is my favorite and probably most useful :)

Weekend Love: Hitched and Hatched

Welcome back to another Monday :) I hope everyone had some good fun, some good food and a good rest over the weekend. I think the highlight of my weekend was part 'hatched' and part 'hitched.'

By Hatched I mean the all day breakfast-serving egg-lovin' restaurant. We headed there early Saturday for a weekend brunch. I was surprised by the number of options on their menu, egg this and egg that. It took me awhile to decide.  

 

I chose the french toast with peach, walnut and cheese. Egg-a-licious combo.

Later that day we attended the 4th wedding in 5 weeks.  I love it when they have photo booths at the wedding reception.  That's me as Darth Vader~

It took me awhile when I came across this photo on Newsweek. I really thought it was an article on the Panda craze hitting asia.  Liu Bolin, you are amazing!

Instagram Friendly

This is a softcover photo book from Artifact Uprising where the layout was designed to best accommodate instagram photos.  You can upload you photos right on to their design page and be the creator of the one-of-a-kind book. I'm loving the square layout design and it's inspiring me to collect more photos for my own book.

Color Chip Box

These poppin' color chip boxes slide open to reveal a secret compartment. They are hand crafted in Copenhagen out of colored plexiglass and Danish wood.

DIY Packaging Bow

This DIY uses leather scrap to create a packaging bow.  The full instruction for this adorable piece can be found on Freshly Picked. I love the soft pink but I'm thinking gold will be super cute too.

Let's start the week with some architecture photography of geometry, colors and patterns from Munich, Germany by Nick Frank. I've introduced Matthias Heiderich before who has a similar style and is also based in Germany. Which one do you like?!

The Art of Colour: String Theory

This is an exciting artwork which is brilliant in both idea and color. The work was created for a campaign called "The Art of Colour" by Rogerseller in collaboration with  Harvest Textiles.

The transforming Yuan Vase

The beautiful vase inspired by the Yuan dynasty is from Ibride, not Asian, but a French home decor brand. Well that's not all the surprise. The Yuan Vase actually unfolds into an entire set of exotic plates and bowls!  Or should I say, the plates and bows transform into a vase?!
